National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6, (also known as National Nurses Day) through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.[1]This year's Nurses Week theme is "Culture of safety it starts with YOU.” ANA defines a culture of safety as one in which core values and behaviors resulting from a collective and sustained commitment by organizational leadership, managers, and workers — emphasize safety over competing goals ( [2]

Florence Nightingale spent her whole career reforming and improving healthcare. She took meticulous notes and realized that unsanitary conditions were causing deaths. Florence worked diligently to achieve excellent healthcare for all. Her methods are used and recognized to this day. That is why the National Nurse's Week includes her birthday. Thank you to Florence and to all you awesome nurses out there! You all deserve some treats, click below to find some goodies.

A special thank you to one of my very best friends Nicole "Nikki" Foley. She became a nurse last year and she is one of the best people to walk the Earth. I am so happy and thankful to have her as my friend, and anyone who has her as a nurse is going to be treated with the best of care. Thank you Nikki, and thank you to all nurses!
