The Sun Foundation for the Environmental Arts & Sciences, 1276 Sun Road, Washburn, IL, in collaboration with the Illinois Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts are pleased to announce the area winners of the '2019' Community Arts Access grants. The Illinois Arts Council awarded the Sun Foundation $10,000 and a 25% matching amount of $2,500 was given by Mary Ann Child, Charles Levesque, Jim & Katharine Weber, First National Bank of Lacon & Hallmark Metamora Fixtures.

The submitted CAA grants, available for schools, libraries, community artists and art groups located in the four counties of Bureau, Marshall, Stark, and Woodford, were reviewed by a committee comprised of professionals who reside within the four counties. The committee’s decisions were based on what projects would best serve their communities. For grant approval, hiring Illinois artists, community involvement and reaching the under-served was vitally important. Each grant recipient was able to receive up to $1000. Users of the grant money are required to document and publicize the event and provide the Sun Foundation with the end of project reports.
