Jim Dooley appointed treasurer Kiwanis Children's Fund Board, Metamora Herald

Albert James "Jim" Dooley of Metamora, Illinois, has been selected treasurer of the Kiwanis Children's Fund, a nonprofit organization that supports Kiwanis International's mission of serving the children of the world. He was first appointed to the board as a trustee in 2015.

Dooley joined the Kiwanis Club of Peoria in 2006, serving as president in 2010-11. He was also lieutenant governor and governor of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District. Dooley is a Walter Zeller Fellow, a George F. Hixson Fellow and a recipient of the Amador Medallion Award. He also currently serves as Americas chair of The Formula.

A financial analyst and accountant, Dooley is retired as owner of Meurer Bakeries. He appreciates the commitment of Kiwanis Children's Fund to the youth of the world: Society benefits by the many service projects conducted by Kiwanis clubs, while the world benefits from preparing youth to become responsible leaders.

He volunteers in his community, serves on several charity boards and is treasurer of his church. He and his late wife have two children.
