Germantown Hills, Ill. - Well, that was quick. The 8th grade girls from Germantown Hills (9-0) (1-0) had an undefeated record to protect when the Tremont Turks (4-6) came to town.

The Warriors jumped out to a lead and never turned back. Not one, not two, but 23 first quarter points fell for Germantown Hills. Tremont failed to score, but did get a trip to the free throw line, but missed both attempts. It was 23-0 after just six minutes. Not only were the Warriors as a team bringing the points quickly, Layne Jackson wasted no time getting in on the scoring action, as she had 10 points after the opening period.

Things somewhat calmed down in the second quarter. Germantown Hills actually sat both Jackson and Katy Ramage for the second quarter. Scoring was down a tad, with a two from Mallory Benett, Ella Stivers, and Maddie Sheets comprising the scoring. The Warriors defense continued to be top-notch, with Tremont still scoreless at halftime.

When it came time for the second half, everyone was able to see the court. Ramage, Jackson, Stivers, and Sheets all scored. Tremont was able to get on the board with a free throw, but Germantown Hills still held a 37-1 advantage after 18 minutes.

The Warriors would finish strong, with their second-highest-scoring quarter of the game. Camryn Youngquist and Jackson both dropped four apiece, and Ramage rounded out her scoring with a two-pointer of her own. The visiting Turks were able to get their first and only field goal of the evening, and that set the final score of 47-3, favoring the Warriors.
