Common Place Adult Literacy Tutor Training Recruitment: September and November

        
Common Place Family Learning Center is seeking additional Adult Literacy Tutors for our 2018-19 school years.  Two new training classes are available for those who wish to help assist adult learners to improve their reading and academic skills.  The Common Place Adult Literacy Program serves adult learners ages 18 and up and is a key component is assisting adults in one to one tutoring and GED completion.

Our first training will take place on September 18, 19, and 20th from 9 a.m. to Noon.  A second class series will be offered November 18, 19, and 20th also from 9 a.m. – Noon. Training will take place at Common Place Family Learning Center at 514 S. Shelley in Peoria. There is no fee for Tutor Training and all support materials will be provided. 

Founded in 1967, Common Place Family Learning Center is located in the heart of Peoria’s South Side. Common Place provides academic resources for families, youth, and adults seeking to advance their educational opportunities, succeed in school, or achieve their GED in order to obtain employment. One to one tutors provide academic outreach at Common Place itself and also meet to tutor in public settings such as the Peoria Public Library in order to advance reading and academic skills.  To register for these upcoming trainings, please contact Adult Literacy Director, Patricia Moten at [email protected] or 674-3315.
