49th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing

Metamora Herald, moon, space

July 20th, 1969, Neil Armstrong, and Buzz Aldrin made history taking a small step for man, but a giant leap for mankind. The NASA moon landing was one of our finest moments of modern day progress. At the time, no one believed such things were ever possible. Since that day, there have been many trips to space and new technologies introduced. We now have a rover on Mars and that in itself speaks volumes to our space explorations progress.

The reality of space exploration sparked a new generation of imagination and curiosity. There were lots of new toys, beverages, and household items such as curtains or wallpaper. Also, many books, comics, and iconic films were to follow. Better special effects were available and this made the movies even more popular. Ah yes, business was booming and this one mission helped to open the door for many more.
