Springbay Residents Voice Concerns

We recently received some letters concerning Springbay, the village meetings, and city ordinances. The information provided is the expressed opinion of concerned citizens of Springbay and in no way reflect the Metamora Heralds opinions on the matters. We encourage anyone and everyone to write us what you think and if you are willing we will publish your opinions.

I am writing in regards to the recent Sprinbay Village Hall meeting conducted on 11/1/2017. I personally do not see any positive changes within our community. We have ordinances in place, but yet no one enforces them, which is our town police officer. I will speak of ordinance #25, which states no Springbay resident within city limits keep any hooved livestock. Which is what the town officer, who is our ordinance officer, and the trustees had told one gentleman, this it was ok to have the goat. Our town officer is spreading false information on who called in regarding the goat. When that information isn't to be reported anyway, because of this false information it is causing conflict between residents. We have residents violation ordinances regarding weeds, inoperable vehicles, expired license plates, zoning pursuits, dogs running at large, or riding off-road motorcycles on city streets. I care deeply about my community, but we need to start by getting trustees to do their job and serve the community, for our town officer to do the job he was hired to do. My personal opinion is our town officer is being paid a salary and not providing the service to the community. we have an animal control officer, but nothing is done regarding dogs running at large( which have killed and attacked other animals). Once upon a time, Springbay was a clean, nice little town, now it's a dirty, lawless, disorderly town. Sincerely, Pamela Mc Glothlen-Crisp

Thank you, Pamela, for sharing your opinion with us. Perhaps this will become an opportunity for you and others within your community to be more involved in the community. We did receive other letters but they were anonymous and therefore we can not publish them. Please feel free to send us your opinions anytime.
