School canceled in Metamora due to online shooting threat

A supposedly credible threat that someone would be shooting up the school caused MTHS to close its doors today. The grade schools in Germantown Hills, Metamora, and Spring Bay have also followed suit. Rumors have circulated that this could be in retaliation for the recent claims of racism at the high school. School officials repeatedly notified parents last night that school may be closed. Many local people were discussing keeping their children home regardless what decision was made by the administration.
"Student safety is our top priority and it is always parent discretion whether or not to send their students to school." wrote MTHS Superintendent Sean O’Laughlin in an email to parents last night.
