Lincoln returns to the Woodford County Courthouse

Lincoln returns to the Woodford County Courthouse, Metamora Herald


 Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Woodford County Courthouse in Eureka, Illinois as a result of the generosity of the Jerome Mirza Foundation, the Illinois State Historical Society will present the Hessler portrait of Abraham Lincoln for hanging in the Woodford County Courthouse. Abraham Lincoln practiced law in what was then the Eighth Circuit. The Eighth Circuit included Woodford County.

 The presentation will be made by Bin Furry, Executor Director of the Illinois State Historical Society, Guy Fraker, an attorney and expert on Lincoln's practice of law, and Fourth District Illinois Appellate Court Justice Thomas Harris.
