Metamora Courthouse Civil War Encampment

 Step back into 1863 at the Metamora Courthouse State Historic Site for a living history encampment featuring the 9. Illinois Volunteer Cavalry Co. B, The 33rd Illinois Volunteer Band, the 10th Illinois Regimental Field Hospital, Dr. Benjamin Lyford, and the Metamora Courthouse Civil War Dancers. Camps will be open throughout the weekend.

 Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of the American Civil War. There will be interactive demonstrations, displays and camps to tour throughout the day as well as a Street Dance in the Evening. All activities are free. Donations are encouraged to support the restoring of the exterior windows of the courthouse.

1:30— Embalming Demonstration
2:00— Kids Drill
2:30 — Artillery Drill
3:00 - Concert by the 33rd Illinois Volunteer Band
3:30 — Skirmish
4:00— Field Hospital Demonstration
4:30 — Embalming Demonstration
5:00 — 7:00 - Street Ball featuring the 33. Volunteer Band and the Metamora Courthouse Civil War Dancers (public invited to participate)
