Tree Knocks Down Power Lines

metamora herald tree down

Some eventful weather issues happened this week. Knocking down power lines and damaging one of the only two buckeye trees in Metamora. This is a statement from Stephanie Jones yesterday:

"Wow! What an eventful night around here! The neighbors tree fell and took down their power line! It was quite the boom when it fell!!!! Thanks to Metamora Fire Department for their quick response time and even CILCO had a relatively quick response time! Needless to say not much sleep here and to top it off my eyes are almost swollen shut because of the pollens and such that this tree blesses us with! It's a beautiful tree and after speaking with the owners I learned that it is one of only two buckeye trees in Metamora! How neat!!!!"
Thank you, Stephanie for statement and picture!  Thank you to MFD and Cilco as well. accordig to Accuweather, we will have more rain and severe thunderstorms Saturday May 20th and cool temperature on Sunday. Their flood warning states:
