Metamora Park Board Meeting May 3rd,2017

metamora herald park board meeting

May 3rd, 2017 I was finally able to attend my first park board meeting. This group of individuals are amazing. I am not sure how many people realize what an important job they have. Keeping our parks clean, safe, and all the different programs they offer to the community are helping to keep Metamora fun. This meeting covered a lot of information. The new board, the pool, the parks, and much more.

At the beginning of this month’s meeting, there was the discussion of the board changing. Sarah Buss the current board president has left and a new President Matt Bidne was nominated and approved by the board. Congratulations Matt! Goodbye Sarah, thank you for your service. After everyone was sworn in the meeting began. There was a lot of discussion about improvements within the community. Adding cement flooring to the dugouts, repainting at the pool and getting rid of the closed down slide at the pool, and my favorite part, adding new “special needs” playground equipment at Brighton Park with the generous help of the Kiwanis Club of Metamora. There are many more improvements to come in the future.
