This week's Village Board meeting on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 had some good news. We will be partnering with the GPAEDC for future developments in the community. The board decided to pay the fee and give this development company a try for the next couple of years. There are a couple of future additions to the village that were discussed at the meeting. One possibly, a new fire station within the next few years.

Another project that could be in our near future would be the funding and building of the Cobblestone Hotel. Cobblestone Hotels are known for being smaller in size, with accommodations of up to 30-40 rooms. They also are interested in keeping the funding for the business within the community. The chain needs 40% of local investments to consider building a hotel in a community. There will be a meeting at Metamora Fields, April 27th, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm to seek out local investors. If you are interested in going and or have questions concerning this project you are welcome to attend. There will be appetizers provided by Metamora Fields.

I am looking forward to seeing this happen. Think of how convenient it will be to have lodging for out of town guests in our town. This will bring consumerism and tax dollars to our community. Not to mention job opportunities. We need more forms of entertainment and businesses in the community. Like a small recreational center with a movie theater, a bingo hall, and video games. Or a couple cement chess board/tables at the Metamora Square. Just a few ideas for things to do. What do you think? What would you like to see here in the local area? Write us and let us know your thoughts on how to build toward the future.
