National Library Week April 9th - 15th

metamora herald loves books

April 9th - 15th is National Library Week. The Metamora Germantown Hills Junior Women’s Club is joining in the celebration by donating cookies to the hardworking librarians. They are also having a book sponsorship at the new Germantown Hills location at 509 Woodland Knolls Drive. You have probably noticed some of the shelves in the adult section are bare. There are several books ranging in prices from $10.00 to $21.00 that are available for sponsoring. When you sponsor the book you can dedicate it to whomever you prefer. Use your family name, or a child/children, or a friend/family member. A sticker with that name will be placed inside the book.

If you haven’t had the chance to stop by the new location yet, here are their new hours as of April 3rd, Monday thru Thursday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Right now, the Prairie District Libraries are having their Spring Story time event, which ends April 25th. Stop into or call the library you would be attending to reserve a seat or if you have any questions. Metamora Library stories will be held Tuesdays at 11:00 am, Germantown Hills will be held Thursdays at 11:00 am, and Spring Bay will be held Thursdays at 1:00 pm.

The libraries are having other events as well. Medicare 101 an informational meeting Tuesday, April 25th, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Germantown Hills branch, and Cooking for 1 or 2 will be on Thursday, April 20th, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Sounds fun! Please come out and enjoy the National Library Week, and give thanks to the dedicated and hardworking library staffs.
