Local Candidate Profile: Wendy Vogel

Metamora Herald campaign sign

My name is Wendy Vogel and I am running for the Metamora Township High School Board of Education.

I am currently a teacher at Metamora Grade School and have been an educator for 24 years.  I attended Bradley University for an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and again in 2014 for a Master’s in Educational Administration. I also have a Master’s Degree from Aurora University in Teaching and Leadership.   I have served as the athletic director and coached various sports while working at Metamora Grade School.  I have worked in high school athletics for the IHSA for 18 years - serving as a certified volleyball official and a volunteer for activities such as wheel chair basketball, Special Olympics, and the March Madness Experience.  I am a United States Air Force Veteran, retiring with 20 years in the military.
I reside in Germantown Hills. I currently have a son attending MTHS as a sophomore and another son who graduated in 2012.
I have spent my entire career advocating for all students.  I would like to continue my passion for children by serving on the MTHS board of education to ensure a quality education is afforded to all as well as a wide variety of activities for all students in athletics, non-athletic activities, and fine arts. I will work to serve as a good steward for all taxpayers in order to provide for all students that walk through the doors of Metamora Township High School.
