National Blood Shortage, Metamora Local Blood Drives with American Red Cross

metamora herald blood drive mths

The American Red Cross has issued an URGENT SHORTAGE of blood announcement. The shortage is due to all the inclement weather events across the nation. Of course, it is always a good time to give blood, and right now (Friday, February 17th, 2017) at the Metamora Township High School students and faculty/staff  are doing just that.

The American Red Cross is offering a $5.00 Amazon code for any student who participates and has a valid email address. Cool! When I donated blood in high school I got juice and a cookie and I was so happy. Money is even better!

If you are interested in donating blood there are a couple of local blood drives happening in the near future. Monday, February 20th, 2017 from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM at St. Luke's Catholic Church 904 E. Reagan Drive Eureka, IL. Also, at Metamora Goodfield State Bank, 800 W Mt Vernon Metamora, IL Feb 24, 2017 from 12:30 PM- 05:30 PM.

Click here to visit the American Red Cross for other blood drives and events they will be having in the future. Please donate blood at one of these events if you can. It could save the lives of three people. Thank you!
