GOP Prepares for Busy 2017

GOP prepares for busy 2017

Republicans will control both Capitol Hill and the White House when Congress begins its 115th session on Tuesday, January 3. They hope to roll back many of the policies put in place by the current administration. While repealing the Affordable Care Act is high on the list, there are many issues that need to be addressed.
While tax reform and rolling back Obama-era environmental regulations are hot buttons for incoming Republican politicians, there are other concerns looming close. President-elect Trump's Cabinet confirmations may prove to be a challenge. There are also concerns over potential Russian interference in the recent presidential election, with calls from both sides of the aisle for more investigations. Job creation is another area where party leaders are sure to push ahead. Republicans are also looking forward to confirming a Trump appointed Supreme Court Justice to replace recently deceased Antonin Scalia.
